Finally decided on some tyres for my TR7, never used Nankang before and this was pretty much the best choice that I could get so soon, anyone here tried AR-1s?

Had them on my old Supra. It was a MK3, pulled it out of a field, like all my other cars, I need to stop doing that. Anyways, they were ok, less than desirable when cold. It slid around like a frightened cat on a waxed tile floor. Once warmed up, they were fine, grippy even. They should be considered a track only tire. I eventually got some all season sportish tires and gave the Nankang’s to a drifter friend.

my choice was either these or some unknown budget brand, had bad experiences with budget tyres before so opted for these hoping they wont be as bad as budgets in sub optimal conditions but sounds like I might not be lucky

Spend the money on tires . B esides these are pure competition tires, I wouldn’t run them on the road, even if they are “DOT” approved.

There is literally no decent tyre available in the sizes I need apart from competition tyres or budgets(ditch finders) I prefered to take the competition tyre route
